The inn opened on December 19, 1986 and we are celebrating with 30 days of historical facts, fun throwback photos and great giveaways. Watch our Facebook Page for details.

If you’ve visited us before you know that the inn in situated on College Hill, in an area that once was farm land outside of “town”. The Wagoner Family owned a great deal of it and in the late 1800’s their farm parcel was divided up among their children. One daughter, Elizabeth Wagoner Leary, used her parcel to build our elegant mansion as an investment property by in 1895. It was rented out to then superintendent of Ingersoll Iron Works, George Elder.pilam Through the early part of the twentieth century the building changed hands many times, serving as a family home and later as apartments. In 1958 it was purchased by the Lafayette College fraternity Pi Lambda Phi. When the fraternity disbanded the once grand home was left vacant and deteriorating.

Enter those visionaries in 1986. John Capellano purchased the building and, with the help of Paul Felder at The Architectural Studio of Easton and others, restored the blighted-eyesore to its former glory. And then some!
