The choices for outdoor activities in the Lehigh Valley will satisfy fun-seekers of all ages. Relax and travel back in time on the Mule Drawn Canal Boat Rides on the Lehigh River that will complement a tour of the National Canal Museum or, if that's too slow for your liking, try the Steel Force Roller Coaster at Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom, one of the biggest and fastest on the east coast.

Want to stay on the ground? Biking and Hiking especially on the canal boat tow path (right here in Easton) or Jim Thorpe offers feet-on-the-ground exploration. Each year in August, Bethlehem's Musikfest brings musicians from around the world and most performances are outdoors. If you're searching for classical entertainment, the Bach Choir and Festival will fulfill your musical thirst.

Live entertainment on a Broadway-quality stage at the State Theatre, only 1 mile from The Lafayette Inn, ranges from stand-up comedy, to dancing-in-the-aisles bands, and the Nutcracker around the holidays.

Easton was the site of the July 8, 1776, reading of the Declaration of Independence in Centre Square and celebrates this occasion with Heritage Day each July.

George Washington launched General Sullivan's northern campaign from Easton and the Northampton Historical and Genealogical Society is an excellent resource for seeking insights into your family tree.

Easton also boasts that their version of the stars and stripes pre-dates Betsy Ross’ version and the original flag is on display at the public library.

The National Canal Museum offers insights into a by-gone era of transportation and the buildings of the Moravian settlement of the early 18th century are still in use in Bethlehem.

Bucks County begins only 3 miles south of Easton and the triangular route from Easton-New Hope-Doylestown offers a great 1/2 or full day side-trip to some of the best antiquing and historic sights in the East.

Take the covered bridge tour and then head to New Hope for lunch.

Visit the museum and visual presentation of Washington's Crossing, a victory of Revolutionary significance.

Snatch up some great buys at Peddlers’ Village or Rice's Flea Market.

The James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown completes the tour before you head to dinner at one of the area’s fine restaurants.
